GiftMe is a social wishlist and gifting-planning service. It allows users to save desired products, organize wishlists, share selected wishlists with friends, discover friends, view social activity, and plan for birthdays, holidays, and other gifting occasions.

2. Summary of Our Practices
- We collect account information, content you save or share, social and gifting information, device and usage information, and communications you send us.
- We use service providers for hosting, authentication, analytics, error reporting, link and image processing, and artificial-intelligence-assisted product extraction.
- We do not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- You control which wishlists and profile information are visible to other users, subject to the visibility settings available in the Service.
- You may request access, correction, or deletion of your information by contacting us, and users with accounts may initiate account deletion within the app where available.
- GiftMe is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13.
3. Information We Collect
A. Account and Profile Information
- Name, display name, username, email address, and profile photo.
- Authentication identifiers and information received from sign-in providers such as Google or Apple, based on the permissions you grant.
- Account settings, privacy settings, onboarding responses, account creation date, and account status.
- Friends, friend requests, blocked users, and related social connections.
B. Wishlist, Item, and Event Content
- Product names, brands, descriptions, prices, images, links, stores, notes, categories, folders, rankings, and other wishlist details.
- Screenshots, photos, or images you choose from your device or share to GiftMe.
- URLs and information associated with websites, social posts, or shopping pages you ask GiftMe to process.
- Wishlists, folder names, sharing settings, reactions, comments, nudges, and other interactions.
- Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, custom events, reminder preferences, and people associated with those events.
- Corrections, edits, prompts, feedback, and other information you voluntarily submit.
C. Information Visible to Other Users
Depending on your settings and how you use the Service, other users may see information such as your display name, username, profile photo, public or shared wishlists, saved items, social activity, comments, reactions, and gifting events you choose to share. Do not make information public or share it with friends unless you are comfortable with those users seeing and potentially saving or redistributing it.
D. Device, Usage, and Diagnostic Information
- Device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, approximate region derived from IP address, IP address, and app or device identifiers.
- Screens viewed, buttons tapped, features used, search activity, saves, shares, friend interactions, notification interactions, session data, and referral information.
- Crash logs, processing errors, performance information, security logs, and diagnostic data.
E. Photos, Camera, Clipboard, and Share Extension
With your permission or at your direction, GiftMe may access selected photos, screenshots, camera content, clipboard content you paste, or information you send through the iOS share sheet. We use this information only to provide the action you requested, such as creating or enriching a wishlist item. You can change device permissions in your operating-system settings.
F. Notifications
If you enable notifications, we may process device push tokens and notification preferences to send friend-request updates, comments, reactions, reminders, event notices, product or feature updates, and other Service messages. You can disable notifications in device settings.
G. Communications
When you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, message, attachments, account identifiers, and support history.
H. Payment Information
The Service is currently free unless otherwise stated. If paid features are introduced, payments may be processed by Apple or another authorized provider. We may receive purchase status, subscription status, renewal and expiration information, transaction identifiers, refund status, and entitlements. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.
I. Information We Do Not Intentionally Request
We do not intentionally request government identification numbers, financial-account credentials, health records, biometric identifiers, or other highly sensitive information. Please do not submit sensitive information through the Service or include it in wishlists, comments, event notes, or support messages.
4. How We Use Information
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts.
- Save, organize, display, sync, and share wishlist items and gifting events.
- Process links, screenshots, images, text, and metadata to identify or suggest product information.
- Enable friend discovery, friend requests, social feeds, comments, reactions, reminders, and notifications.
- Personalize and improve the Service, including recommendations, ranking, onboarding, and feature design.
- Measure usage, troubleshoot errors, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the Service and its users.
- Respond to support requests and send administrative, security, policy, and optional marketing communications.
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect legal rights and safety.
- Create aggregated or de-identified statistics and insights that do not reasonably identify you.
5. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
GiftMe may use artificial intelligence, optical character recognition, link parsing, image analysis, and other automated tools to extract or suggest product names, brands, prices, descriptions, images, categories, and links from content you submit. To provide these functions, relevant content may be sent to service providers that process it on our behalf.
Automated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. You should verify product descriptions, prices, availability, retailer identity, shipping terms, and safety information before relying on them or making a purchase.
6. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. Vendors that provide hosting, databases, storage, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, email, customer support, security, artificial intelligence, image processing, link processing, and push notifications.
- Other users. Information you make public, share with friends, post to feeds, or otherwise direct us to disclose may be visible to those users.
- Third-party services. When you open a retailer link, use a social platform, sign in through Google or Apple, or otherwise interact with a third-party service, that provider may receive information under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information to comply with law or legal process; protect rights, property, safety, and security; investigate fraud, abuse, or illegal activity; or enforce our agreements.
- Business transfers. Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
- At your direction or with your consent. We may disclose information when you ask us to or otherwise authorize it.
7. Sale, Sharing, and Advertising
GiftMe does not currently sell personal information and does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may use analytics and attribution tools to understand Service performance and user acquisition.
If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy, update any required App Store disclosures, and provide consent or opt-out tools where required by law. We will not knowingly sell or share the personal information of users under 16 without legally required authorization.
8. Aggregated and De-Identified Information
We may create and use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for analytics, research, product development, trend analysis, business planning, and other lawful purposes. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified information except as permitted by law, including to test whether de-identification methods are effective.
9. Cookies, SDKs, and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers may use software development kits, APIs, cookies on our website, local storage, device or app identifiers, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, measure performance, debug errors, prevent fraud, understand usage, and improve features. Your browser and device settings may allow you to control some of these technologies.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Retention depends on the type of information and our legal, security, and operational needs. For example:
- Account and profile information may be retained while your account is active.
- Wishlist items, comments, events, and other User Content may be retained until you delete them or delete your account, subject to technical and legal exceptions.
- Security logs, support records, transaction records, and legal records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary.
- Backups may retain deleted information for a limited period before routine deletion or overwrite.
- Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained indefinitely where permitted by law.
11. Account and Content Deletion
You may delete individual content through available in-app controls. If you have an account, you may initiate account deletion in the app through the account or profile settings where available, or contact us at contact@trygiftme.com.
When an account is deleted, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account unless retention is reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, backup integrity, or enforcement. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or cloud data.
12. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
- Account and profile controls: update available profile and privacy settings in the app.
- Permissions: change photo, camera, notification, and other permissions in device settings.
- Marketing: use any unsubscribe mechanism provided in marketing emails.
- Access, correction, deletion, and portability: contact us to request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable exceptions.
- Opt-out rights: where applicable law provides rights concerning sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling, you may contact us to exercise those rights.
- Appeals and non-discrimination: where required, you may appeal a denied request and will not be unlawfully discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
We may verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification of their authority.
13. California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights. Depending on applicable law and whether GiftMe is subject to that law, these may include rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling. GiftMe will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
Categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers; internet or electronic-network activity; commercial information if paid features are introduced; user-generated content; social connections; event and preference information; approximate location derived from IP address; and inferences about interests or preferences. Sources and purposes are described throughout this Privacy Policy.
14. International Users
If you use GiftMe outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal bases and safeguards for processing and international transfers.
Depending on your jurisdiction, legal bases may include performance of a contract, consent, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests such as operating, improving, securing, and supporting the Service.
15. Children’s Privacy
GiftMe is not directed to children under 13, and users must be at least 13 or the minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us at contact@trygiftme.com so we can take appropriate action.
16. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, such as access controls, authentication, encrypted transmission where supported, monitoring, and service-provider security controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.
17. Third-Party Links and Services
GiftMe may contain links to retailers, brands, social platforms, websites, payment providers, and other third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for their privacy practices, terms, accuracy, content, security, product quality, pricing, availability, delivery, refunds, or conduct. Review third-party policies before interacting with them.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last Updated” date and provide additional notice when appropriate or required. Your continued use of the Service after an updated policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
